We are very stoked to announce the release of update 1.1, further deepening the integration of mod content into the core experience of Skater XL. Maps are barebones and, sadly, completely empty. Quite difficult and unapproachable, requires a lot of patience and effort to get used to. However, it is lacking many maps and some aren’t the best for skateboarding, not offering much in variety.
The levels also feel bland and boring because there are no other skaters or pedestrians around to populate the areas. You cannot even compete in competitions against other skaters. There is no story mode or other side missions in this game like you would see in Tony Hawk or Skate. SkaterXL has added an online multiplayer beta for its Steam release, which allows up to 10 players to skate together. After 10 years, we can wait a little more, and it’s better to do it right than do it fast. Skate is back! After years of fans demanding a series revival, EA finally confirmed during its EA Play 2020 presentation that Skate 4 was in development.
